Elba Police looking for ‘hunting’ items stolen recently in thefts

Elba Police Chief Freddy Hanchey this week said his department is hoping citizens can help find items stolen recently in several thefts.
“We’ve had a number of random thefts in Elba recently,” Chief Hanchey said. “These have taken place in several locations across the city.”
He said it appears hunting equipment and associated materials have been a target in these recent burglaries.
“Some of these items were even taken during the daylight hours,” Hanchey said.
Items reported as stolen over the past few weeks to the Elba Police Department include:
• Bowtech RPM 360 Hunting Bow
• Leupold Binoculars
• Leupold Range Finder
• Vortex Range Finder
• Browning Game Camera (8)
• SD Card Reader
• Cases of Shotgun Shells (13 total cases 12 ga. and 20 ga. Reloads and new Fiocchi shells)
• .22 Ammo (1000 Rounds)
• Yeti tan 65 quart NWTF cooler
• Yeti Hopper Cooler (bag type)
• Browning Climbing Harness
• Camo Whitewater Jacket
• Brown Carhart Jacket
• Tan Carhart Jacket
• Remington Camo Bag containing Batteries
• Meat Cuber
• Fanny Pack containing miscellaneous tools
• Hummingbird Helix 9
In addition to these items, Chief Hanchey said large amounts of copper wire also have been reported as stolen in the recent weeks.
“If anyone has information regarding the theft of these items, we ask that he/she contact us at the Elba Police Department, he said. “Also, if anyone has tried to sell any of these items to you, or you have purchased such items in the past two week, please contact our department.
